E. MAYIMBE BIOGRAPHY
Eduardo Aguirre & Heather Gervais have over 20 years of dance experience and have worked together since 2006.
Eduardo, from Mexico City, has competed in Mexico and the US, qualifying for the World Salsa Championship every year since the event began in 2005.
Heather feels that visiting Mexico in 2001, where she fell in love with salsa dance and Latino culture, is of the experiences that have most impacted her life, for which she is ever-grateful!
In 2007, the couple's first year competing together, they won the Portland Gemini Salsa Competition and qualified to compete in the World Salsa Championship, where they placed in the top 25 couples among a large pool of international competitors. In 2008, the couple won for a second time the Portland Gemini Salsa Competition and qualified once again to represent the Northwest at the World Salsa Championship.
They love inspiring others through teaching and performance to learn salsa and experience the joy and vitality they both have found through dance.
They continue to create choreographies for show and competition, teach group and private lessons, and are available for performance, events and entertainment. To inquire about classes or booking for events, please Contact E. Mayimbe.
